The ever increasing number of Aging Baby Boomers is being accompanied by an ever increasing number of individuals possessing some type of functional impairment or limitation. This presentation will discuss how consumers, Universities and corporations can work in collaboration to broaden the market for the next generation of mainstream consumer products so that they include the needs and wants of the elderly and people with disabilities.  Included in the presentation will be a general overview on why & how corporations are seeking design function and feature input from consumers on new product development. Case based examples from the RERC on Technology Transfer's work with Fortune 500 companies will be presented.
