In October 2003, the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technology
Transfer began its third 5-year funding cycle - one of more than twenty RERC
programs funded by the Department of Education, National Institute on Disability
and Rehabilitation Research. The RERC on Technology Transfer is focused
on the transfer of technology and introduction of products that benefit people
with disabilities and the elderly. Over the last decade, the RERC on
Technology Transfer has built a successful and innovative program for this
challenging application. The RERC on Technology Transfer has many collaborations
with the Federal Labs and is seeking to strengthen this relationship.
