Prior research generated a set of generic consumer evaluation criteria. Device dissatisfaction and abandonment remains high so the generic criteria are either not applied or require further refinement. The RERC-TET developed more detailed consumer criteria for a dozen ABLEDATA categories where consumer dissatisfaction is reported to be quite high.
