With the assistance of the T2RERC's Supply Push Project, Turning Point Therapy & Technology, Inc. of New Braunfels, Texas has licensed the PDA Magnifier and Line-Text Isolator from its inventor.
In many cases, the elderly and those with visual impairments are unable to use personal digital assistants because they are unable to read the text on the screen. The PDA Magnifier and Line-Text Isolator amplifies the text on a PDA's screen by magnifying (2.5x) and isolates individual lines of text so that they can be read more easily. Despite magnifying text line by line, this device covers the entire width of the PDA screen. Therefore, the magnifier can slide freely up and down the PDA to wherever it is needed. This device attaches to a PDA by sliding the magnifier's elastic band around the outside of the PDA, which makes it fully removable and very simple to operate. This feature allows the PDA Magnifier and Line-Text Isolator to attach to almost all PDA's currently on the market.
The product launch will be at the 22nd annual Closing the Gap Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 21-23 of 2004.
